Cornhole as a Fundraiser

Seven simple reasons it's better than a golf outing.

  1. Cornhole is fun and anyone can play from eight to eighty. Golf is fun but not nearly as easy to play.
  2. Cornhole is easy to set up anywhere - inside / outside - it can be played year around - on the beach, in the grass, on a basketball court. Golf can't be played anywhere but on a golf course.
  3. Cornhole is cheap to set up and start playing - all you need are some boards, bags and someone to play with. Golf can be expensive both greens fees and equipment. The money saved by not having to rent a course goes straight to the bottom line for the charity or cause.
  4. Cornhole is social, large crowds gather and play together. Golf you go off in your foursome and you see nobody else until you return 5 hours later
  5. A cornhole outing provides much more exposure for sponsors than a golf outing. This makes it easier to bring in sponsorship revenue.
  6. A cornhole outing provides a better platform for a silent auction or live auction should you choose to add one to the event.
  7. A cornhole outing provides a much larger opportunity for player participation than a golf outing.

I'm certain I've missed a few reasons why a cornhole outing is a better fundraising opportunity than a golf outing but these seven points are good enough to make my case.

So if you're looking for something a little different than the same old golf outing to raise money for your charity, I suggest you get out there and start "Pitching for Your Cause".

2010 Cornhole for Crohns and Colitis at Side Pockets North Charity Cornhole Tourney!

Dear KC Cornhole,

We would like to thank everyone who was a part of the 2010 Cornhole for Crohn’s and Colitis tournament. We are proud to announce that together we raised a total of a $7,177.20 for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.  Our original goal was $5,000, so we were ecstatic that we surpassed our goal and are so thankful to everyone who supported us.

We would like to send a special thanks to AirTran, Side Pockets, ATD Flight Systems, KC Cornhole, Kansas City Cornhole, and KJane Designs for sponsoring the event.  Your commitment to helping the CCFA by donating to the Cornhole for Crohn’s and Colitis tournament is sincerely appreciated.

Congratulations to Mark Isley and James Brown for winning the cornhole tournament.   Robert Rys and Dante Hernadez placed second.

The event was a true success and we are already brainstorming on how we can make the event bigger and better next year.   Thank you again for your generosity and we hope to have support next year.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Fasolo and Heather Martley
